West Virginia Congressional Election 2020 Political Courage Test

Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Like former President Clinton I would like to see abortions become rare.
Yes In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Yes Do you support expanding federal funding to support entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare?
Believe tax increase (amt or rate?) on wealthy and increased spending on entitlement programs will help alleviate economic disparity in US.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
ALL financial contributions should be limited to $100 for any single from any source, corporate or individual.
Unknown Position Do you support increasing defense spending?
Believe keeping US safe is a priority but do not know answer here.
Yes Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
Corporate taxes are too low, but any increase should try to keep US competitive.
No Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
Federal education role should be to assure perhaps a minimum standards are met.
Yes Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
Yes Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
We need immediate attention to address climate change.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
Believe there is a Second Amendment right to bear arms but not for everyone.
No Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
There needs to be an improvement to present health care beyond ACA. Needs to be greater attention to prevention.
No Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
No Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
Country founded on immigrants.
Yes Should the United States use military force to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a weapon of mass destruction (for example: nuclear, biological, chemical)?
Yes Do you support reducing military intervention in Middle East conflicts?
Believe military presence there probably necessary but should emphasize intelligence + minimize "boots on the ground".
Yes Do you generally support removing barriers to international trade (for example: tariffs, quotas, etc.)?
US should retain flexibility esp. with WTO to assure international trade abuses are prevented.
What economic advances that have occured over past decade have not been uniform geographically or across the population spectrum. This must be changed through government contracting, tax incentives, and moral suasion. West Virginia is being left behind in the modern economy + probably other places as well. Immediate national rehabilitative measures should occur to address this disparity.
